Ryan Sweeting: Kaley Cuoco’s New Boyfriend Is Former Tennis Phenom

Ryan Sweeting may known in the tennis world as a former phenom and one of the top junior players of his era, but to Hollywood he is more commonly known as Kaley Cuoco’s new boyfriend.

The Big Bang Theory actress showed up to this weekend’s Emmy Awards with Sweeting by her side, leading many to dig for details about the new man in her life.

Kaley Cuoco just got out of a brief but high-profile relationship with Man of Steel star Henry Cavill, and it appears the actress is now going for a bit more laid back kind of relationship. She and Sweeting were seen cozying up throughout the award show, and Kaley later gushed about her man on Instagram.

“#emmyweekend greatest date ever @ryansweething”

Ryan Sweeting is a rising star in the tennis world, looking for his first big win after a solid debut as a teenager. The 26-year-old was born in Nassau, Bahamas, but moved to Fort Lauderdale to train when he was 12.

Sweeting had a big introduction to the tennis world in 2005. At age 18, he defeated the now No. 27-ranked player Jeremy Chardy in the US Open Boys’ Singles championship. Earlier that year Chardy had won the Wimbledon Championships Boys’ Singles title.

As a singles player Sweeting amassed a junior record of 94–51 (89–46 in doubles), reaching all the way to No. 2 in the junior combined world rankings in September 2005.

But since then he’s been looking for a signature victory. He’s competed in seven Grand Slam tournaments, but never advanced further than the second round.

Since turning professional in 2007, Ryan Sweeting has a career 35–57 record in singles and one victory. He reached a career-high ranking of No. 64 in 2011, but since then has fallen to No. 525 in the world.

Kaley Cuoco’s new boyfriend may be stalled a bit in his career, but it hasn’t hurt him too much in the pocketbook. Ryan Sweeting has still managed to make more than $1 million in career earnings.
