Selena Gomez may be rethinking her decision to move on from her relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. The Latina was snapped looking less than impressed last week when a man tried to give her a bunch of roses in Milan, Italy, and reportedly continued walking before a security guard took the flowers.

The 21-year-old later took to Twitter on Saturday, posting a photograph of herself sniffing a single rose in a Milan hotel room crammed with Versace bags, pointedly captioned :
“But it’s about quality not quantity.”
Some reports speculate Gomez was comparing the roses offered by a stranger to the single red rose Bieber took to her final birthday bash in Malibu back in July. At the time US weekly quoted a source saying:
“Justin flew in specifically for the party on a day off from his tour.” The insider added , “He wasn’t dressed in costume, but carried a single red rose in his hand.”
Previously at IQ, we have reported on Bieber and Gomez’s slow swansong after their first break-up last November — the are they/ aren’t they drama that followed, those Instagrams, that trip to Oslo, and the rest of the teenage malarkey with the same bemusement seen at most outlets.

The reason? Their age.
Playing fast and loose and blowing hot and cold is the very definition of teen love. Even if you can only dimly remember it, most of us know it’s a time of wildly fluctuating emotions, raging hormones and mercurial decisions.
However, post Selena and Justin’s big splits in November and the New Year, it would be fair to say the Disney alum has wiped the floor in the PR stakes. Generally seen as the more focused one of the two with her cap set on serious acting roles after Spring Breakers, the narrative has invariably been, “She can do better.”
Indeed, even after Gomez’s hardcore spot on the Late Show with David Letterman in March when she acquiesced in an ‘I made Bieber cry’ skit with the host, her later appearance in a dance video to Dustin Tavella’s “Your Boyfriend is a Douchebag,” the starlet has remained untouchable in the wake of Bieber’s extraordinary 2013 — which, back then — was only just kicking in.
Subsequently, and this isn’t a criticism more an observation of fact, Gomez skillfully worked Bieber into some press rounds — notably, the “Love Will Remember” voicemail nonsense — in the run-up to her Stars Dance album debut, noticeably stepping back from that approach once it charted and her same name tour kicked off on August 14.
Many agreed, and even applauded, Gomez’s unequivocal “Yes I am” to Ryan Seacrest when she was asked if she was single. Similar declarations in various radio interviews , on Chelsea Lately, and to The Associated Press followed.

So, is it odd that just as Bieber appears to be finally turning his disastrous year around after his break down in a NYC church service earlier this month, recent Twitter blitzes to promote his artists, collaborative music releases, a cathartic interview for his upcoming Believe film, a return to his world tour and trips with Jacque Rae Pyles — that Gomez seems to be sending mixed messages to the 19-year-old?
Love to my guy @carllentzNYC for the amazing sermon at church this morning. Love you man. I broke down today. Thank u ?

And then again, maybe not. A well-established truism says it’s one thing to reject something, quite another if somebody else comes along and seems to appreciate what was let go.
Far be it from us to tell the “Heartbreaker” muse how to run her life, or a certain Canadian for that matter, but perhaps someone should remind Gomez that being mature means playing fair.
