Christina Aguilera On Adam Levine: ‘It Isn’t Personal’
If you watched the reality TV competition The Voice these past few years, you might have noticed how Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine were always at each other with opposing opinions. Now Christina is saying it’s nothing personal, just passion for music.
Aguilera is one of the original coaches on the NBC hit sensation music talent show along with Levine, frontman for the pop band Maroon 5, country star Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green.
Christina Aguilera took a break from the show last season to spend more time with her 5-year-old son Max. She was replaced by Colombian singer Shakira,
Starting next Monday we will see all the original coaches back on the show as Aguilera and Green both came back in time for the new season.
But will we see Christina and Adam at each other again?
“We’re both very passionate, but it isn’t personal with Adam. It never has been. We’re just very strong personalities,” Christina Aguilera told Fox News about the apparent tension between the pair.
Both singers are very opinionated and don’t seem to mind getting into an argument to defend their position, but Christina accepts the fact that taking a break helped her see that the show is not about he coaches.
“The time off made me see more than ever that [the competition] isn’t about us. It’s about the contestants. To me, being on the show [and] gaining advice from all of us who have lived this business, that is success,” she replied to suggestions that winners of the competition haven’t yet matched the success of their American Idol rivals.
Especially considering that The Voice has higher ratings than its Fox competitor.
So we will see how things will be different this time around when Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green return as coaches on The Voice on September 23.
