A GVSU wrecking ball parody video inspired by Miley Cyrus’ nude ride resulted in the college making an official response.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Miley Cyrus’ wrecking ball video from the VMAs has been the subject of much discussion these past week.
Unfortunately, Miley Cyrus took a wrecking ball to her love life recently when Liam Hemsworth broke off the engagement with her while still allowing Miley Cyrus to keep the engagement ring. But that hasn’t stopped some GVSU college students from wanting to mimic some aspects of her life.
The GVSU wrecking ball is actually a sculpture that was created 18 years before the Miley Cyrus wrecking ball video ever came up. The sculpture hangs outside the science building and resembles a large steel weight suspended from a steel cable. In other words, it’s a GVSU wrecking ball forevermore despite any pretensions of being art.
But then some students decided to post a GVSU wrecking ball Miley Cyrus parody video that also has them stark naked. Then more photos and videos started popping up, prompting the college to react.
College officials decided the GVSU wrecking ball needed to be taken into storage due to safety:
“We are reassessing the safety and structural integrity of the current installation and site. Hopefully the pendulum can be reinstalled at that location or we can find another suitable location on campus so people can enjoy it as a piece of art and stay safe.”
We’d presume the GVSU wrecking ball might end up being encased in a transparent cage to keep erstwhile naked college students out. But some college students felt the college administration overreacted and they staged a protest by holding lit cell phones in the air and chanting, “Wrecking ball! Wrecking ball!”
