No, there isn’t a monster under your bed. But there might be a crocodile.
A man found a crocodile under his bed this week at a nature lodge in Zimbabwe. Yes, an 8-foot-long crocodile.
According to UPI , Guy Whittall, the captain of Zimbabwe’s cricket team, was blissfully unaware that a prehistoric looking reptile was under his bed. Whittall slept through the night and didn’t discover that there was a crocodile under his bed until one of the housekeepers started screaming.
Whittall said that the scariest part of the ordeal is that he had his feet dangling off the bed in the morning.
Whittall said: “The really disconcerting thing about the whole episode is the fact that I was sitting on the edge of the bed that morning, bare foot and just centimeters away from the croc.”
Once the croc was discovered, the hotel crew went to work removing it from underneath the bed. The crocodile resisted at first, but eventually the animal was ushered outside.
Whittall said: “I just remember thinking goodness gracious, that’s one for the books. I’m pretty sure everyone in Humani checks under their bed before going to sleep now anyway.”
It’s unclear how long the monster crocodile was living under the bed but Whittall said that he wasn’t too surprised that the animal went undetected through the night.
Whittall said: “Crocodiles are experts at hiding, that’s why they have survived on Earth for so long and why they are the ultimate killers in water. They know how to keep quiet and go unnoticed, it’s in their nature. The crocodile came from the Turgwe River which is a couple of kilometres from the house. They often wander about the bush especially when it’s cold and raining. I think he liked it under the bed because it was warm.”
