Zac Efron Completes Rehab Stint For Substance Abuse

This is a huge surprise! According to PEOPLE magazine, High School Musical’s Zac Efron completed rehab months ago. Most of the time news of a celebrity going to rehab to seek council for their problems is something that’s heavily reported on, but for Efron it looks like everyone kept his rehab stint hush-hush so the actor could sober up.

The actor, who recently made an appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival, completed a stint five whole months ago. According to a source Efron has all his ducks in a row, with the source stating, “He’s taking care of himself and it shows.”

While it is assumed that Zac Efron’s problems were alcohol abuse, sources are saying a whole other story. According to TMZ, sources close to the situation tell the outlet that his stint wasn’t for alcohol, but instead for cocaine and ecstasy.

Although it is surprising that a squeaky clean Zac Efron would enter rehab at all, it’s even more shocking that it’s for cocaine and ecstasy. In the last few years cocaine and ecstasy have climbed the ranks as party drugs, and that’s no exception in Hollywood. After all, singers are writing songs about “dancing with Molly” which is the street name for the purest form of ecstasy.

Zac’s rehab stint is also a huge surprise because he’s been pretty busy all year with his films. According to TMZ problems came to a head when Efron was filming the new Seth Rogen comedy called Neighbors, which he shot around April.

The source continued to divulge about Efron’s hard time, saying to TMZ: “It was common knowledge he was struggling with cocaine.”

When Efron’s rep was asked for a comment by TMZ they said, “Don’t think we’ll be making a comment.”

In addition to Neighbors, Zac Efron’s resume looks pretty full. Coming up he has Are We Officially Dating? And on pre-production is Autobahn.
