‘American Horror Story’ Star Lily Rabe Joins ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’

American Horror Story star Lily Rabe has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

Rabe will play Commander Lyme, a victor of an unknown Hunger Games from District 2 and one of the rebellion leaders.

Golden Globe winner Julianne Moore was recently cast as President Alma Coin, president of District 13 and leader of the rebellion against the Capitol. Moore was first rumored for the role in June.

Lily Rabe and Julianne Moore join Games of Thrones star Natalie Dormer, who was cast as Cressida, a resident director from the Capitol who joins the rebellion with her camera crew and assistant.

Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their roles as Katniss Everdeen, Gale Hawthorne, and Peeta Mallark. Woody Harrelson returns as Haymitch Abernathy. Philip Seymour Hoffman will play Plutarch Heavensbee.

In February, Hoffman said The Hunger Games is good for children. He also praised author Suzanne Collins.

“It’s unbelievable what this woman has done. She literally tells our modern history of war and the awful things that have happened through these science-fiction novels,” he said. “In the modern day, we send children off to die to protect our way of life, basically. It’s very powerful the way she does it.”

Hoffman, a huge fan of the books, said he immediately wanted to be part of the films. He said his role as Heavensbee in Catching Fire, the writers added more for his character. Everything will then fall together in Mockingjay.

“I’m looking forward to the next two [films], because his job becomes very different,” Hoffman said of the role. “The story becomes very different and everyone will see what happens.”

Lily Rabe stars in American Horror Story: Coven, which premieres October 9.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 hits theaters on November 21, 2014, and part two will be released November 20, 2015.
