‘Grand Theft Auto 5’ PC Petition Surpasses 350,000 Signatures, Rockstar Still Quiet
The release of Grand Theft Auto 5 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is just around the corner – that’s tomorrow, if you’ve lost track of time – but so far Rockstar has kept quiet about whether or not a PC version will be happening. Naturally, PC gamers aren’t happy.
A petition to port the game over to the PC platform was started late last year, and the petition kept going pretty strong since – back in July, the petition had reached 230,000 signatures. Now that the game is just about to release, even more PC gamers are signing.
As PC Gamer notes, the petition has so far reached over 350,000 signatures. It’s not the most successful video game petition, but it’s sure to get Rockstar’s attention.
Here’s the petition letter to Rockstar, as written by the organizer(s):
“Please release GTA V on PC. GTA games have been a large part of so many people’s lives and it’s a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform. Things like modifications have always been a HUGE part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have.”
Just because Rockstar hasn’t said anything about a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 doesn’t mean one isn’t in the works; as you may recall, it was around eight months before Grand Theft Auto 4 made its way to the PC platform afters its release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Nonetheless, the complete silence from the developer regarding a PC port is frustrating to PC gamers – but at the same time, Rockstar doesn’t want to announce it too early if the PC version is intended to be far off.
While we PC gamers continue to wait for more news from Rockstar, tomorrow the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will be getting this:
