John Legend and Chrissy Teigen married in Italy Saturday.
E! News confirms that the couple married in an intimate ceremony at an estate in Lake Como . Legend and Teigen began dating in 2007 and got engaged in December 2011 during a vacation in the Maldives.
The 27-year-old model told the website that the ceremony would be short, and that she didn’t “want anything too satiny, shiny, or crazy.” Teigen said, “I’m not going to be that ball gown girl at all. I don’t want to shock the guy coming down the aisle. I just want to be myself.”
When the big day came, the bride wore three different Vera Wang dresses. According to E! , Teigen wore an ivory strapless open back, V-neck ball gown with a lifted tulle skirt, and tiered flange for the ceremony. The dress also had hand-cut petal embroidered detail.
Teigen then changed into a mermaid ivory gown with a micro pleated bodice for the reception. For the after party, the new Mrs. John Legend changed into a crimson strapless mermaid gown with a hand-draped bodice.
Teigen told the website, “Every time I went in [to Vera Wang] for a fitting, I couldn’t stop getting one. It’s just too pretty.”
John Legend released his fourth studio album, Love in the Future , on August 30. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, and sold 68,000 copies in its first week. The 34-year-old retweeted a sneak peek of his video for “All of Me” from photo director Nabil. The picture shows Legend and Chrissy Teigen lying in bed together, covered by a white sheet, with one of Teigen’s breasts exposed. Teigen retweeted the image saying, “I figure you can’t be suspended for a retweet.”
Teigen didn’t seem too bothered by the reaction to the tweet, writing, “Literally everyone has a nipple. Get over it.”
