Pia Zadora Heads To Anger Management Counseling
Pia Zadora is headed to anger management and alcohol counseling after she was arrested in May for allegedly spraying her son with a hose.
Zadora will face 30 days in jail if she fails to attend the counseling sessions. The singer and actress was charged with domestic abuse and coercion in the case.
Yahoo! News reports that the entertainer was accused of the crimes after she tried to get her 16-year-old son to go to bed so she could get some rest.
When it didn’t work, Zadora apparently used a watering hose on the teen and then attempted to rip the phone from his hands when he called 911. At the time, she told police she thought her son was calling the police to avoid his bedtime.
Pia Zadora was a child actress on Broadway and was honored several times by the Razzies. The Academy Awards spoof hands out prizes for Hollywood’s worst movies. The entertainer won “worst new star of the decade” in 1990.
The Las Vegas Sun notes that Zadora was drinking with her husband and his adult son at the time of the altercation. When he went to call authorities, Zadora grabbed him around the neck and scratched his ear.
She and the other adults refused to answer the door or cooperate with police when they arrived. Because of this, the Metro SWAT Unit was called in.
Along with attending anger management and alcohol classes, Pia Zadora was ordered to stay out or trouble for a year. The entertainer didn’t attend the hearing. However, if she complies with the judge’s orders and learns to control her impulses, the domestic violence case will be dismissed.
The ruling in Zadora’s case comes as Las Vegas restaurant Piero’s Italian Cuisine announced the entertainer would begin an indefinite residency there. She will perform at “Pia’s Palace” on weekends. However, that could change if Pia Zadora fails to attend her anger management and alcohol counseling.
