Snooki Mourns Loss Of Beachcomber Bar After Seaside Park Fire

The Jersey Shore suffered another major blow this week when a fire destroyed much of the famous boardwalk. Snooki, one of the Jersey Shore’s most famous residents, took to Twitter today to mourn the loss of famous hot spots like the Beachcomber.

Snooki writes on Twitter: My prayers to seaside park. Can’t catch a break….praying for the volunteers, fire department & residence. Rip seaside boardwalk. So many of our favorite places gone…my heart is with everyone affected. Xoxo Beachcomber.”

The Seaside Heighs boardwalk was badly damaged during Superstorm Sandy. The Jersey Shore community has been rebuilding over the last year but yesterday afternoon the area suffered another major blow.

Governor Chris Christie said that he was heartbroken by the fire last night but said that the people of New Jersey would rebuild and create new memories.

Christie said: “I will not permit all the work we’ve done over the last 10 months to be diminished or destroyed by what happened last night… While we have lost a place that has provided generations of memories to our citizens, we will rebuild. We will make new memories, because that’s what we do.”

On the bright side, NJ.com notes that the Beachcomber was actually lucky compared to some of the buildings. The restaurant received extensive fire damage but it wasn’t burned to its foundations. The owner of the restaurant wrote on Facebook that the restaurant would rebuild and that the Beachcomber would be back.

The Facebook message reads: “Some of our building and much of our hearts have sustained damage. But the Beachcomber is much more than just a building; it is the spirit of our family, our friends, our employees, our bands and mostly our loyal customers throughout the years. Although no specific reports can be given right now, know that we will be back, the sun will rise tomorrow and the future is bright.”
