Patriots Beat Jets 13-10 In Watery Duel
The New England Patriots beat the New York Jets 13-10 on a rain soaked night when emotions ran high and a fight broke out.
Tom Brady looked like anything but the cool leader of the Patriots with three Super Bowl rings to his name. Always a fiery guy, Brady blew a gasket and was shown yelling at Julian Edelman on the sideline after a miscommunication on what should have been a touchdown pass.
Even though the Patriots won, that play describes the night for New England. It was a dogfight and showed how vulnerable the team is this year. The record might say 2-0, but the on-field play shows a team that could easily be 0-2.
The Jets, led by Geno Smith, didn’t play spectacular football either. Overall, New York turned the ball over four times. Three of those four turnovers were Geno Smith interceptions. The rookie quarterback made two bad throws in the fourth quarter that likely cost the Jets the game.
This victory marks the fifth game in a row the Patriots beat the Jets in New England. Even though the score was low, emotions were high as the Jets tried their best for the upset.
After the game, Tom Brady spoke with reporters about the state of the Patriots:
“We have a long way to go. No one is coming to the rescue and save the day so we’ve just got to fight through it. We’ve got to work harder and do better and try to be more consistent.”
Brady was speaking about the Patriots barely there offense. He completed less than 50% of his passes for the first time since 2009. Rookie Aaron Dobson dropped a number of easy passes, while Brady and Julian Edelman couldn’t seem to get on the same page.
With 38 seconds to go and a chance for the win, Geno Smith threw a game ending interception. After the play, a late hit out of bounds turned into a brawl as both teams went at it. Two Jets were ejected and one likely faces a fine.

Did you think the Patriots would barely beat the Jets? Should the Patriots be worried after two weeks?
