Alexandra Ponte FBI Investigation Looks Into Disappearance
The FBI have now become involved with the ongoing search for Alexandra, “Ali”, Ponte, a missing Colorado teen.
14-year-old Alexandra (Ali) Ponte left to go to Memorial Park on September 4 and has not been seen or heard from since.
According to ABC News, Ponte was initially thought to have run away when she left her home after a fight with her mother.
“It wasn’t a very nice rap. It was about her stepfather and me,” her mother Christina Duis told ABC News. “The gist of it was she feels unloved, and she’s angry and hurt.”
Duis had banned Ponte from Facebook, and that’s when she ran away, but not police and FBI agents are wondering if she may have been kidnapped.
The Denver Channel reported Ponte is 5’5? and weighs 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a bright blue hoodie and skinny jeans, investigators said. She was also carrying a grey and black “Nike” backpack.
The FBI originally where helping with the search by simply trying to locate Ponte’s cell phone, but investigators now believe it has gone dead.
The FBI said they are desperate for new leads. KKTV reported that they are going to retrace Ponte’s steps and re-interview anyone who had contact with her before she disappeared.
Detective Chris Goings told ABC News that one of Ponte’s friends supposedly saw her in Ellicott, “so that is something we are going to be investigating.”
Police said that they want Ali to know that if she did in fact run away, she won’t face any charges, and everyone just wants her home.
“I just wish I would have hugged her more,” Duis said through tears. “I just wish I would have told her how much I love her more. I don’t think she really knows.”
Police are asking anyone with information on Alexandra Ponte to call Detective Sean Goings at 719-687-9262.
