Ariana Grande’s Album Tops Charts, Then Is Told To Stop Singing

Within hours of finding out that her debut album, “Yours Truly,” was going straight to number one, doctors ordered Ariana Grande to stop using her voice immediately.

According to ABC News, Grande was ordered on vocal rest after suffering a vocal cord hemorrhage.

The Huffington Post stated that the 20-year-old singer, who rose to fame with roles in the Nickelodeon shows “Victorious” and “Sam & Cat,” reportedly turned up the volume a bit too high and landed herself on the bench.

Grande told her twitter followers that she was taking some time off for vocal rest due to being irresponsible and “screaming too much” at her part.

ABC News noted that according to Dr. Jennifer Long of the UCLA Medical Center, a vocal cord hemorrhage occurs when a blood vessel within the vocal cord ruptures, causing a bruise in the delicate tissue used to produce voice.

Long, who has not treated Grande, said the injury could permanently change voice quality of it’s not treated appropriately.

The injury has forced Grande to cancel dozens of media appearances designed to capitalize on her chart-topping hit, “The Way.”

Check out the Twitter messages she sent out to fans

“For those of u asking about my voice I screamed too much at my party totally irresponsible but it’s better now, thanks for the well wishes”

“Thank you guys for the well wishes, I’ll be better in no time.. just need some rest”

Grande isn’t letting this setback dampen her mood though.

ABC News reported that Grande is one of only 15 other female vocalists have made it to number one on the charts with a debut album.

When Ariana Grande found this out, she tweeted her fans the following:

“omg so apparently I’m the 15th solo female artist ever to have their 1st album go # 1 @billboard thank u guys so much for making it happen.”
