Daniel Radcliffe Does Gay Sex Scene In New Film, Admits He Will Always Be Harry Though

Daniel Radcliffe’s gay sex scene in the upcoming Kill Your Darlings has been a central topic of discussion for the Harry Potter star’s next grown-up role — but co-stars say what will really steal the show is his airtight performance.

At the recent Toronto Film Festival, Daniel Radcliffe was on hand to bang the drum for both Kill Your Darlings and Horns, but he was totally circumspect about whether edgy roles are going to successfully transition him from perceived child star to serious contender.

It seems Dan is not expecting any projects to be “the one,” observing that a franchise and a role as big as Harry are bound to stick for a very long time if they ever go away.

He explained this weekend:

“There’s never going to be one film that comes out that officially breaks me away from Harry. It’s a process. But I definitely think that these three films are a part of that… You don’t make a long-term plan in the film industry because it’s very hard to.”

As for Radcliffe’s graphic gay sex scene, the actor doesn’t see the difference between that and a vivid straight sex scene — or maybe he’s just been reading a lot of Harry/Draco fanfic.

Dan said last year:

“It’s interesting that it’s deemed shocking… For me, there’s something very strange about that because we see straight sex scenes all the time. We’ve seen gay sex scenes before. I don’t know why a gay sex scene should be any more shocking than a straight sex scene. Or both of them are equally un-shocking.”
