‘Fifty Shades’: Charlie Hunnam And Dakota Johnson Have ‘Tangible Chemistry’ [Photos]

Charlie Hunnam made his first public appearance on Saturday and of course he was asked about his new role, the much talked about Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey alongside Dakota Johnson who will play Anastasia Steele.

The film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by author E.L. James and one of the most highly anticipated movies in recent years.

Many fans had already cast the movie in their minds and their choice was not Charlie, so there was a bit of an uproar, to say the least, when his name was announced a week ago, by James on Twitter.

Charlie Hunnam was attending the premiere of his series, Sons Of Anarchy at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood when he spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about landing the racy role for the first time.

Charlie Hunnam was asked about meeting his Fifty Shades Of Grey co-star, Dakota Johnson.

“As soon as we got in the room and started reading with Dakota, I knew that I definitely wanted to do it, because there was a tangible chemistry between us. It felt kind of exciting and fun and weird and compelling, and so that was it.”

When asked about the steamy sex scenes that everyone is expecting him and Johnson to do together, Hunnam was very nonchalant,

“My first job was on a Channel 4 miniseries called Queer As Folk. It was incredibly explicit sexual scenes with a man. I mean I’m 16 and 17 years wiser now. So if I could do it when I was 18 with a guy, I can certainly do it at 33 with a lady.”

Talking about how playing Christian Grey will affect his relationship with girlfriend Morgana McNelis, Charlie Hunnam thinks doing this role will bring them closer as a couple.

“It’s very hard to be with an actor. She’s required to share parts of me that she wouldn’t really want to share. With the nature of this role, that’s going to be times 10… She read them and loved them and was really excited about the potential of the opportunity for me. If anything, I think it will make us closer.”

Charlie Hunnam showed why he will be a great Christian Grey in Fifty Shades Of Grey, wearing a blue/grey suit, matching tie, and crisp white shirt. Take a look!
