Kanye West Announces Tour With Kendrick Lamar

Kanye West’s album Yeezus has been named the album of the summer by some outlets, and now that album will be promoted with a North American tour. Kanye West announced that he will have a 23 stop North American tour with none other than Kendrick Lamar. Lamar, who has already received attention for his mixtapes, has been thrust into the spotlight over the last year.

Not unlike Kanye West’s bravado, Kendrick Lamar has recently captivated the rap world with a single with Big Sean called “Control (HOF)”. The song went on to lambaste every big name in the rap game including Jay-Z, Mac Miller, Drake, A$AP Rocky, and even Big Sean himself. While coming up in the rap game, Lamar has received comparisons to West as well. Perhaps this move is Lamar being moved directly to West’s throne?

West’s North American tour will be Kanye’s first solo tour in five years. His last tour was with his buddy and collaborator Jay-Z for their Watch The Throne album. The tour kicks off on October 19 at Seattle’s KeyArena and goes through to December 7 at Houston’s Toyota Center. Tickets for the tour are said to go on sale on Friday, September 13, and even more details about the tour will be released on Kanye’s official website .

It’s believed that in addition to West and Kendrick, that another unannounced special guest will take the stage during select dates.

Since West didn’t tour to support My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in 2010, we’re thinking he may perform some songs from that album, as well as Yeezus . However, you never really know what a ‘Ye show may bring. His recent surprise concerts have been met with auto-tuned rants, screams, and walk offs from West. Hopefully this will be different.
