Robin Thicke Says He Wouldn’t Be Here Without Paula Patton
Robin Thicke finally broke through this summer after years of hard work with his controversial hit “Blurred Lines,” but the R&B singer (and son of Alan Thicke) says his perseverance wouldn’t have been possible without wife Paula Patton.
Robin Thicke and Patton have been married since 2005, and the couple have a son, Julian, two. But as Thicke worked to make it big, he says Patton was his source of support and encouragement, and spoke of his wife’s dedication in an interview last month.
According to Robin, Paula kept him going through some rough times, and he admits:
“I don’t know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn’t for Paula… She’s been my rock, my muse, my inspiration and I love her.”
Thicke also calls Julian his “good-luck charm,” adding that the boy seemingly presents the showbiz gene. He explains:
“He writes all his own songs and performs them and introduces himself – ‘Ladies and gentlemen, Julian Fuego Thicke!’… He even wakes up in his sleep sometimes, introduces himself like that and falls back asleep. He’s hilarious.”
Patton too says that Robin has been her biggest source of strength in the business, saying that Thicke is who she turns to when she’s worried or concerned about a role — and that she returns the favor.
“Robin got me ready for every single acting audition I’ve ever done… We read lines together when I’m working on movies. He’s my coach. I listen to every song he writes and help however I can, and I’ve written songs with him.”
Robin Thicke and Paula Patton were spotted this week behaving very amorously at a release party.
