Ariana Grande, ‘I Want To Do A Song With Justin Bieber’
Ariana Grande has got her sights on Justin Bieber.
In the musical sense, of course.
The petite 20-year-old has the world at her feet right now after her recently released album Yours Truly debuted at the top of the iTunes chart in several countries. But it seems there is still one thing she wants — to sing with the Canadian superstar.
Sitting down with Philly’s Wired 96.5 radio show during her The Listening Sessions tour, Grande was asked which artist was on her “Wish List.”
After a few adorable “um’s,” the brunette declared,
“I want to do a song with Justin Bieber. I do.”
Given that Ariana and Justin are both managed by Scooter Braun, the interviewer asked her why there seemed to be a hold-up on their collaboration.
“We were going to, but he wants to write it,” Grande explained.
She added,”We had a cool song. It was going to be a duet, but then he didn’t write it so he was like — no!”
News that a duet could be arriving at some future point will undoubtedly delight most of the two stars’ fans.
Unless, they happen to one of the those miffed when Ariana posted (at Justin’s insistence, as it turns out) a selfie of the 19-year-old giving her a backstage kiss at a Believe tour meet and greet a few weeks ago.
Inevitably, fans went nuts, with some sending abusive messages to Grande on Twitter. As a result, the “Right There” songstress deleted the photo, later tweeting,”
Everyone, girls are allowed to be friends with guys. I’m a lady. Chill out.”
Since then, things appeared to calm down as news of Ariana’s new relationship with The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes broke.
The pair reportedly got close while recording their duet “Almost is never enough,” which features on the soundtrack of the film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
But, although Justin and Ariana’s relationship is platonic, “The Way” star recently shared some of the details about how they met and said the pair often text each other.
“Justin’s the most famous contact I have in my phone,” the starlet told M magazine.
“I felt so cool when he texted me. I didn’t believe it was him at first. He wrote, ‘What’s up cutie?’ and I dropped my phone and thought, ‘That did not just happen’.”
It seems the “Boyfriend” star wanted to complement Ariana on her cover of one of his Believe album songs.
“I did a cover of ‘Die In Your Arms,’ and Justin tweeted it and said he liked it and that meant the world to me,”she gushed, adding,
“The fact that he did that means he thinks I have something as an artist. I think he’s adorable and amazing.”
Sounds like these two should get in the studio pretty sharpish. Get writing Justin!
Stunning reviews have greeted Yours Truly’s debut and it is now available to buy in stores.
