Rock princess Kelly Osbourne has been at times a plus sized celebrity, but in recent years the star has had weight loss success with hula hooping and a special soup recipe to help her eat healthily.
Still, slimmed down or not, Kelly Osbourne is one of us plus size girls at heart. So much so that the former reality TV star plans the launch of her very own plus size fashion line — which we have to admit we are totally already sold on.
Kelly’s style is very “her” and very retro edgy, and a line of clothes in extended sizes from Osbourne sounds like it will be totally awesome out of the gate.
Like a true bro, Kelly Osbourne is supportive of the plus size ladies often left out of fashion trends, saying:
“No one takes notice of a fat girl in fashion… That’s the truth! It’s sad.”
Preach it, sister! Osbourne adds:
“That’s why I love women like Beth Ditto who are doing their own clothes. That’s why when my line comes out I’ll never make anything that won’t be translated to plus-size as well. Because everyone deserves to wear fashion.”
Actually crying real tears here, Kelly.
Last month, Osbourne met with people to get her clothing line in the works, and she said at BeautyCon:
“I had one of the most exciting meetings of my life this week — it pretty much green-lit my clothing line… When I sat down in this meeting and they said, ‘Yes, you have creative control and of course you can do plus size,’ I was like, ‘It’s happening!’”
Kelly outright says no matter her size, she is a curvy girl at heart — she explains :
“I’ve always been really into fashion. It’s just that my fashion choices at an early age were really odd and they still are. I have grown to understand, as much as I don’t like it, that the fashion world doesn’t really want to listen to what a little chubby girl has to say… When I lost weight and started to wear the clothes I always wanted to wear but didn’t fit into, that’s when [things] really started to change. It did give me a bit of a bittersweet feeling towards the fashion world.”
We have one thing to say to Kelly Osbourne as her plus size line comes closer to our style-hungry mitts — shut up and take my money!
