‘Pokemon X And Y’ Mega Evolutions Given To Classic Starters
Pokemon X and Y mega evolutions are being given to classic starters.
One tradition that the new pseudo-3D Pokemon X and Y will be deviating from is that with every new game, the player is given three new starters introduced for the game. This time around, the starters from Pokemon Red and Blue are making a comeback, and being given mega evolutions at that.
Myriads of fans probably cheered when they read that, as Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle have been considered the best starters the series has ever had. They will be starters in Pokemon X and Y as well now.
Bulbasaur is a grass-type Pokemon whose basic attacks are plant based, and in honor of his classic nature in the series, Gamefreak is giving him the Pokemon X and Y mega evolution as Mega Venusaur.
Charmander is the fire-type Pokemon, basically a salamander sized dragon that breathes fire. He will also be given the mega evolution as Mega Charizard.
Again with Squirtle, the water-type Pokemon, a turtle which uses water based attacks, we will see him land the mega evolution as Mega Blastoise.
Previous Pokemon in X and Y that were given the mega evolution included Mega Blaziken, Mega Absol, Mega Mawile, Mega Mewtwo, Mega Lucario and Mega Ampharos, and each Pokemon will require their own Mega Stone to kickstart their new forms.
This follows previous rumors of a possible Legendary Pokemon Z, which may be based on the classic glitch-type pocket monster found in Pokemon Yellow, or possibly Norse mythology surrounding Yggdrasil (the tree of life), but nothing is really known at this point.
So there you go, the starter Pokemon in Pokemon X and Y will be the same as those in the original games Pokemon Red and Blue, and they will be given mega evolutions. The excitement surrounding Pokemon X and Y is palpable, and mega evolutions for the classic starters will make it even more intense.
