‘Transformers 4’ Official Title: ‘Age Of Extinction’
The Transformers 4 official title has been revealed as Age of Extinction, as a recently leaked poster shows.
Like it or not, Michael Bay transformed modern action cinema and brought special effects to a new level. Without Transformers, there would likely have been no Battleship or Pacific Rim. In fact, even Joss Whedon’s The Avengers seemed to borrow a thing or two visually, though it seems the new official title for Transformers 4 borrows something from the latter film’s sequel.
The film series itself didn’t fare well after the first, spawning a rushed sequel that Michael Bay apologized for, and a better third film that at least cut out a lot of its predecessor’s sex jokes and blatant lack of any kind of sense.
In a surprising move, Transformers 4 – now officially titled Transformers: Age of Extinction – will be starring the mechanical wonders the fans call the Dinobots, as previously reported by The Inquisitr. This is surprising because back before he made Revenge of the Fallen, Michael Bay stated that he didn’t want to use the Dinobots, calling them shallow and lacking in character.
In a way, considering the official title for Transformers 4, “extinction” does seem like a logical reference to dinosaurs, so it’s actually fitting. We don’t know what the names of the Dinobots are just yet, whether or not they’ll be renamed like the Constructicons were in Revenge of the Fallen, but you can rest assured that you’ll know as soon as we do.

The official title of Transformers: Age of Extinction follows earlier rumors of potential titles such as Apocalypse, Last Stand, and Future Cast, as also reported by The Inquisitr. We can only wonder exactly what those domain names will be used for.
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura stated about the confirmation of the Dinobots in the fourth film, “I cannot disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the arrival of the Dinobots will give the audience a lot to be excited about. The world’s coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including Chinese vehicles, so whether you are a car enthusiast or not, it will be a feast for the eyes.”
So there you go, ladies and gentlemen, Transformers 4‘s official title is now Transformers: Age of Extinction, and there will be Dinobots.
