Obama Gun Control Executive Order Bans Registration Loopholes, Makes Sherriffs Angry
The Obama gun control executive order is banning two gun registration loopholes.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Obama gun control executive orders are actually in two parts.
The first Obama gun control executive order prohibits people from registering their guns with a corporation or trust, which previously would allow them escape a background check. This measure is intended to keep felons from illegally purchasing and registering guns. All gun purchases will now require a background check.
The second Obama executive order prohibits private corporation from importing military grade firearms that the United States previously gave to foreign allies. The only exception would be museums wishing to put such weapons on display. Estimates claim over 250,000 military grade weapons have been brought back into the United States since 2005.
But the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA) thinks the Obama gun control executive orders are unconstitutional:
“The sheriffs took an oath to support the Constitution and will stand by the 2nd Amendment. The sheriffs will aggressively oppose federal or state legislation which infringes upon law abiding citizens’ right to bear arms. The sheriffs further agree to support any legislation that would effectively penalize criminals who use firearms in the commission of crimes.”
Do you think the Obama gun control executive orders are unconstitutional?
