Kris Jenner’s Talk Show Cancelled By FOX
Well you can’t blame a girl for trying. After just one abbreviated season of Kris Jenner’s talk showKris, FOX has decided to cancel Jenner’s show due to the abysmal ratings it received.
The momager to children Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and co was recently told by FOX executives that a second season of her talk show is a no-go. A source told Radar Online, “There is no chance the talk show is going to get a green light from FOX. The ratings were averaging an abysmal 0.8 and advertisers were less than enthusiastic about it.”
Jenner did try to get ratings up, by having rapper and explosive personality Kanye West on her show to discuss his relationship with her daughter Kim. The appearance led to Kanye shelling out the first picture of daughter North “Nori” West. Unfortunately it was a little too late.
A source close to the production of Kris Jenner’s show explained that it wasn’t enough to convince FOX executives to stick with her daytime talk show. “That was a one time shot in the arm and it wouldn’t be indicative of what the ratings trend would be.”
So what went wrong? Well, it doesn’t help when you’re not the most liked person in the world. Since the debut of E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the matriarch hasn’t received the best press in the world. That coupled with the fact that the market is already crowded with a ton of talk shows, and Jenner didn’t really stand a chance.
FOX has decided to go in a different direction. Instead of renewing Jenner’s Kris, FOX will launch The Real which is “expected to be picked up” after edging out the competition.
Although FOX hasn’t made an announcement yet, the formal announcement is expected to be made in a few weeks “out of respect to the current situation engulfing the family.” The current situation being the crumbling relationship between Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom.
Are you surprised Kris Jenner’s show has been cancelled?
