Did Taylor Swift Say ‘Shut The F*** Up’ At VMAs? Selena Gomez Says ‘Don’t Ask’

Tons of GIFs floating around social media right now seem to indicate that Taylor Swift has very little patience for Harry Styles.

When One Direction took the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards to thank their fans, a quick audience reaction shot showed Swift clapping, but leaning over to Selena Gomez and whispering “shut the f*** up.”

At the premiere of Gomez’ new film Getaway on Monday, one plucky reporter found the courage to ask the 21-year-old singer and actress to confirm that Taylor Swift is as foul-mouthed as she appeared to be.

But Gomez wouldn’t budge.

“Don’t try that with me,” Gomez rebuffed.

She later explained that she is very protective of her friends, and that she’s not about to trade secrets with the press for a little limelight.

“I think girls need to be more supportive of each other. I definitely agree with that. I’m all about that,” she said. “Taylor has been one of those girls. We have been friends for five years. She is very strong. She doesn’t care what people think and she inspires me.”

Gomez actually had some VMAs success herself Sunday night. She took home Best Pop Video for “Come & Get It” and said that she didn’t expect to win.

“So I am watching the beautiful boys, One Direction who are not bad to look at, then they said my name. I looked at Taylor… it was surreal. Because I do put so much work into my music. There’s so much talk of everything. But I did put my heart and soul into it so I was really excited. It was great.”
