Lil Wayne Tweets Apology To Fans: ‘I Promise 2 Work Harder If It Kills Me’
On Sunday,Rapper Lil Wayne took to his Twitter account, which is followed by over 13 million fans worldwide, to apologize to them for not living up to his own high expectations.
By all accounts, 2013 has not been the best year for the Grammy winner. Back in March, he was admitted to hospital after suffering a number of seizures. His recent experimental album, I Am Not A Human Being II, has only sold half a million copies so far. His album before that, Tha Carter IV sold 3.5 million copies. As a result of this poor performance his name was not included in the BET and VMA nominees lists.
Lil Wayne Tweeted from the heart, as he apologized to his fans for the fact that will be absent from the upcoming award shows:
“Noticed I wasn’t nominated nor involved n da MTV VMA’s nor da BET awards…I apologize to my fans and I promise 2 work harder if it kills me.”
Earlier in the summer, DJ Drama gave an interview about the recording work that he and Wayne were busy with:
“Me and Wayne working. [The mixtape may be dropping] sooner than people think, so I’m just gonna say be patient. Have we started recording?] Yeah, absolutely. Definitely. It’s beats, rhymes and life. A Tribe Called Wayne. It’s mostly freestyles, you know. That’s what Dedication is known for. But we’re also going to get the skits back. So we’re definitely going to get some of that entertainment value of Wayne talking how he talks, like how he did with Dedication 1, 2 and 3…. That man is a monster when it comes to work. So he gets it all done.”
