The Fifty Shades of Grey movie is still looking to for its cast. The latest rumor points to Dakota Johnson for the role of Anastasia Steele.
Johnson, who had her breakout role in The Social Network, is reportedly in the running for the role of Steele in Fifty Shades Of Grey. The Wrap reports that Johnson is being considered by Universal but that nothing is set in stone yet.
In fact, Johnson is just one of many young actresses being considered for the role.
Fifty Shades of Grey has a huge audience and could be a box office hit. Yet, the role also has a bit of a stigma attached to it since its based on a novel that hasn’t exactly won critical praise.
The Wrap writes that the role of Anastasia Steele is “highly coveted” but that may not be the best word choice to describe the Fifty Shades of Grey cast. Big name actors and actresses like Emma Watson and Mila Kunis have laughed at the thought of joining the cast for the erotic movie.
Watson said: “Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life.”
Emma Watson would probably hurt her career if she joined the Fifty Shades of Grey movie but Dakota Johnson could see a huge boost in popularity. She’s a relatively new actress but is quickly building a fan base. Starring in Fifty Shades of Grey would instantly make her a household name.
