Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel Dating Rumors Sparked When They Dine Out In Hamptons

Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel may be the newest cute couple. There’s no question that the pair were spotted out Tuesday night dining at Nick and Toni’s restaurant in the Hamptons.

However, there are two different interpretations of what the sighting means.

Life and Style Magazine said that Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel had more than dinner together. They were also seen shopping for groceries at a nearby food market.

However, I’m not entirely happy with the source for the grocery-shopping story. That unnamed person was described as “an eyewitness on Instagram.” I think if you’re an eyewitness on Instagram, you need to disclose at least one photo.

Hmm.

Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel first met on the set of 2011’s Bad Teacher. Now they’re back to film the spicy Sex Tape.

So you’ve got three options. They’re dating. They’re not dating but would like you to imagine them cooking a morning-after breakfast together for publicity.

Or they’re just friends.

E! Online is going with the just-friends theory. Their source said that a second man joined the table at some point. And they didn’t think Diaz and Segel were really acting very romantic.

Of course there’s something of an age difference between the 40-year-old There’s Something About Mary blonde and the 33-year-old How I Met Your Mother actor. And Diaz will turn 41 on the 30th of this month.

But Cameron Diaz has addressed the questions of her age in the past. A New York Post story from last October noted that she’d posed for the November 2012 cover of Esquire UK.

“I know more than I’ve ever known,” she said then. “I feel more capable than ever. And as far as the physicality of it, I feel better at 40 than I did at 25.”

What if they do decide to get together? Is Jason Segel ready for Cameron Diaz’ cougar physicality?
