Melanie Griffith Lands Guest Spot On ‘Hawaii Five-0’
Actress Melanie Griffith recently scored a guest spot on Hawaii Five-0.
Although she doesn’t have a very high opinion of Hollywood at the moment, the Cherry 2000 star has accepted a role on the CBS crime drama. The 56-year-old actress has been tapped to portray Danny “Danno” Williams’ mom in the series.
The network made the announcement on their official Twitter page Tuesday evening. Griffith has yet to make an announcement about the role as of this writing. It’s also unclear when the actress will appear on the program.
This isn’t Melanie Griffith’s only recent foray into the world of television. She previously appeared on episodes of Raising Hope and Hot in Cleveland.
The actress made headlines earlier this week after she shared her thoughts and feelings about the current state of Hollywood. In short: Griffith thinks most modern screenplays aren’t very good. This might explain why she hasn’t appeared on the big screen in quite some time.
Despite her problems with Hollywood, Melanie Griffith apparently doesn’t have any worries about Hawaii Five-0. If she has taken issue with any aspects of the series, then she hasn’t complained to anyone at the moment.
During her recent chat with FOX411, the Dark Tourist star explained that Hollywood is very superficial and “s***ty.” Although she didn’t have any trouble getting work in her 20s and 30s, Griffith said all of that changed when she got a little older.
“It is all about youth and beauty, for women anyway. You just have to keep biting and pushing your way through, doing theater. I believe in just being really good and working on my craft which is how I started in the first place. I really like that as opposed to the fame part of it,” she explained.
Here’s the official tweet from CBS regarding her guest spot.
