Tim Tebow Throws For Negative Yards During Patriots Win
There’s good news and bad news for Tim Tebow. The good news is that the controversial quarterback actually saw some playing time during an NFL (pre-season) game. The bad news is that he threw for negative yardage and earned a 0.0 passer rating.
Tebow has been frequently criticized for his passing game and he didn’t do much to silence his critics last night. The Patriots backup quarterback threw seven passes, completed one, and ended the night with -1 passing yards.
Oh, he also threw an interception.
Tebow said: “It was definitely something I shouldn’t have thrown… You want to do your best and play to the best of your ability and have it all go right, and sometimes it doesn’t. You just have to keep going.”
On the bright side, Tebow did have 30 rushing yards on six attempts.
Tebow was one of the most talked about players in the NFL last year despite the fact that he rarely saw the field. The media circus didn’t follow Tebow to New England and now the former Mile High Messiah is hoping to convince people that he belongs in the NFL.
Last night didn’t do him any favors.
Tebow said: “I feel like I’m fighting to get better every day.”
Patriots fans had a bit of a scare earlier this week when Tom Brady went down with a knee injury. The injury wasn’t serious and didn’t effect Brady’s performance last night.
The Patriots QB was nearly perfect last night, completing 11 of 12 passes for 107 yards. Ryan Mallett also played a good game going 12-20 for 137 yards.
