Ewan McGregor Set To Return In ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ [Rumor]
Ewan McGregor is said to be returning for director J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII.
Juggling Hollywood rumors at this moment in time is incredibly difficult. Between Man of Steel 2 and Star Wars, trying to figure out what’s true and what’s fiction is pretty much a full time job. Here’s another one to add to your increasingly long list.
According to Latino Review, Ewan McGregor is presently in talks with Disney and Lucasfilm to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Episode VII. As with any of these recent rumors, be sure not to hang your hopes on them. There’s always a chance they could be debunked at any given moment.
Although neither J.J. Abrams nor reps from Lucasfilm have confirmed the actor’s involvement, the website claims that no less than three different sources are positive that McGregor is coming back for more. Reports suggest that he will play a Force Ghost in the upcoming sequel.
Ewan McGregor previously stated that he was interested in returning as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Episode VII if they decided to use the character. If these rumors turn out to be true, then fans will definitely have yet another reason to cheer when this thing finally hits theaters.
The Jedi Master isn’t the only character that could return for the next installment of the beloved franchise. The Inquisitr previously reported that Emperor Palpatine is slated to appear in the film as the Sith version of a Force Ghost.
Ian McDiarmid recently confirmed that he would make an appearance in Star Wars: Episode VII. However, it’s unknown how big of a role he will play in the film’s storyline. Details surrounding Abrams’ flick get more and more interesting with each passing week.
