Cameron Crow, of Fast Times at Ridgemont High, directed the highly anticipated film.
Sound City, which is directed by David Grohl, features the infamous Los Angeles studio. Nirvana’s hit album Nevermind was recorded at the Sound City studio in 1991.
The documentary’s guest stars include Mick Fleetwood, Neil Young, Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty, and Trent Reznor.
The artists discuss how the studio became an important part of their lives. The film also explores the art of recording, and how it has changed throughout the years.
As a member of Nirvana David Grohl’s life was forever changed with the recording of Nevermind. With the album’s release, Nirvana became a worldwide success.
In addition to the documentary, Grohl has reportedly been working on another interesting endeavor. Grohl was recently named as one of the masked musicians in Sweden’s Ghost’s Nameless Ghouls.
As reported by Team Rock Radio, Jack Osbourne recently interviewed one of the death metal band members. When Osbourne asked about Grohl’s involvement, the Ghoul stated:
“As a matter of fact he has. I can’t really… but underneath that cloak it was Dave Grohl.”
Ghost’s Nameless Ghouls’ members dress in cloaks and masks, hiding their true identity. David Grohl has not confirmed his involvement in the group.
