William Perry passed away this week. William Refrigerator Perry did not.
Rumors that the former Chicago Bears defense had passed away started circulating this week after it was reported that a man named William Perry had died. TigerNet, the website for Clemson sports, assumed that the William Perry who had passed was none other than the former NFL player.
Well, it turns out that they were wrong.
Refrigerator Perry, his brother, and Clemson have all confirmed that the former Chicago Bears player is alive and well.
Clemson’s football sports information director Tim Bourret cleared things up on Twitter.
Bourret writes: “Some have reported that William Perry passed away today. This is not correct. He is fine.”
Perry’s agent, Adam Plotkin, also assured fans that the Fridge was doing fine.
Plotkin told UPI : “I guess someone called (Perry’s brother) Michael Dean and said that someone found out that someone named William Perry died, but it wasn’t the Fridge… Someone from Clemson called us as well and said they had been getting a lot of calls and stuff. He is completely fine.”
Of course, the definitive proof the Refrigerator Perry is alive and well came from the Fridge himself.
I heard about the rumors that I passed away online. #SMH . Just wanted to let everyone that they are not true and Im doing fine. Thanks guys!
