Eminem is back! A new Eminem solo has debuted in an advertisement for Call of Duty: Ghosts. The song, ‘Survival’ is the first solo to be heard off of his eighth studio album.
The song features female vocals to start and then transitions into the new Eminem vocals. This will one of the few new Eminem songs to be released since his last full album in 2010. No title or release date has been given for the eighth studio album but we are fairly confident that it is on its way considering the solo track.
The President of Shady Records, Paul Rosenberg mentioned the existence of a new Eminem album earlier this year stating:
He’s been working on it for some time. It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when. We’ve got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we’re trying to see what else lines up.
With ‘Survival’ returning to Eminem’s gritty old school sound, he could definitely return to the spotlight. Twitter has already started to blow up over the new single and almost all users are saying good things about the new Eminem track.
Right from the start, Eminem comes in with strong lyrics:
Wasn’t ready to be a millionaire/I’m fucking back again with another album/Hands up like its 12 noon/So get ya ideas/As soon as I get into the booth I spit.
Skylar Grey, who has appeared on other Eminem songs is the female vocalist also featured in the Eminem single. Call of Duty: Ghosts will be coming out in November and we might end up seeing a release of the new Eminem album around the same time.
Eminem will likely come out with an official announcement soon, but we will have to wait and see. Until then, check out the trailer featuring Eminem’s ‘Survival.’
