Ashley Tisdale Drops Out Of ‘Left Behind’ Remake
Ashley Tisdale has dropped out of the upcoming remake of the Christian-themed flick Left Behind.
The High School Musical star was slated to portray Chloe Steele in the project. However, the folks at Stoney Lake Entertainment wasted absolutely no time finding someone else to fill the character’s shoes.
According to reports, Switch at Birth and Big Love star Cassi Thompson will take over for Ashley Tisdale. Busy actor Nicolas Cage is reportedly still on-board as her father in director Vic Armstrong’s $15 million reboot. Chad Michael Murray will also appear in the flick.
Based on the best-selling book series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, Left Behind tells the story of a group of people who are left on Earth after millions of others suddenly vanish without a trace. Growing Pains alum Kirk Cameron spearheaded the original 2001 adaptation.
Don’t start feeling too sorry for Ashley Tisdale just yet. The young actress still has a handful of projects looming on the horizons. She is currently attached to star in the animated flick The Great Migration alongside Ashley Benson and Vanessa Hudgens.
Tisdale is also expected to walk down the aisle with fiance Christopher French in the near future. The Annie Automatic frontman reportedly popped the question last week. It didn’t take very long for photographers to spot the actress out and about with her engagement ring.
The Phineas and Ferb star discussed her relationship with Maxim magazine not too long. According to Tisdale, she’s always had a thing for guys who have a bit of a wild side.
“There’s definitely a thing where I like the dark, mysterious bad boy. I’m not into the game so much. If I like you, I’ll confront you and be open about it. Then I expect you to come after me,” she explained.
Are you disappointed that Ashley Tisdale won’t star in the Left Behind reboot?
