First details on Cote de Pablo’s NCIS replacement have finally been released. So what’s she like? Basically, if you liked Ziva, you’ll like her replacement, Bishop.
Cote de Pablo is still planning on leaving the CBS hit (no, she still hasn’t changed her mind), and the search is underway for a full-time cast member who will ultimately serve as her replacement. We already told you that Ziva’s character won’t die (allowing for future guest appearances), but now we can give you a better idea of who you’ll be seeing in her place.
TVLine reports that new casting intel shows that NCIS is looking for a 20-something to fill the role of “Bishop,” who is described as:
“Bright, educated, athletic, attractive, fresh-faced, focused and somewhat socially awkward. She has a mysterious mixture of analytic brilliance, fierce determination and idealism. She’s traveled extensively, but only feels comfortable at home.”
Sounds… a lot like Ziva to me, but hey, what do I know. I only watch NCIS with my grandma every Saturday afternoon after mowing her lawn.
Anyway, new Ziva Bishop will start in mid-October after they figure out ho to deal with Cote de Pablo’s departure. Before Bishop, they’re going to “rotate some fun people” in and out, The Office-style.
“The first two episodes are all about Ziva’s departure,” Executive Producer Gary Glasberg said. “And then in the third episode we introduce, for instance, a woman in her 50s who is a few days away from retirement and just needs to fill the desk time. She, in theory, knew Gibbs all the way back to the days of Mike Franks. So we’re going to bring in people like that and have some fun with different characters. And then, hopefully, when people are comfortable enough, one will walk in and be The One.”
What do you think of Cote de Pablo’s NCIS replacement? Does she sound too much like Ziva? Sound off!
