Miley Cyrus: ‘We Can’t Stop’ Doesn’t Contain Subliminal Messages
Contrary to what you may have read on message boards, the music video for Miley Cyrus’ We Can’t Stop doesn’t contain any subliminal messages or hidden meanings.
According to Cyrus, all of the things you see in the music video for her controversial tune were inspired by real events. In other words, people often bleed pink ooze after cutting off their own fingers. All kidding aside, it’s this sort of imagery that sparked rumors.
During her appearance on the BBC radio program The Official Chart, Miley Cyrus attempted to squash the conspiracy theories that have popped up around the music video for We Can’t Stop. Although she didn’t come right out and say it, the singer clearly thinks these folks are kooky.
“Everyone is always like, ‘What does the video mean?’ There’s conspiracy theories behind my video. And it’s not quite as deep as some people try to make it seem. A lot of people think I’m in the Illuminati somehow through this video,” Cyrus explained during her chat.
She added, “It’s not really that trippy to make you think this some subliminal message or it’s brainwashing you.”
Although she claims there aren’t any subliminal messages in the We Can’t Stop music video, this wouldn’t be the first time Miley Cyrus has fibbed a bit regarding her new song. In order to ensure the single’s inclusion on radio playlists, she stretched the truth a bit regarding the tune’s lyrical content.
Instead of singing “dancing with Miley,” the former Hannah Montana song was really saying “dancing with molly.” In other words, Cyrus is crooning about the joys of ecstasy.
“If you’re aged ten [the lyric is] Miley. If you know what I’m talking about then you know. I just wanted it to be played on the radio and they’ve already had to edit it so much,” she said.
If the song itself is distracting you from unraveling the mystery behind her ties to the Illuminati, then be sure to check out the video without audio. It’s not unlike a waking nightmare.
Do you think Miley Cyrus has subliminal messages tucked inside the music video for We Can’t Stop? Are people reading way too much into her new single?
