Nirvana’s ‘In Utero’ Re-Release To Include ‘Forgotten Tune’
Nirvana is preparing to to re-release the hit album In Utero, and, with that release will be a recently unearthed track titled Forgotten Tune.
In Utero has been remastered and the bad’ns third and final studio album will be re-released on September 23. The album’s reissuing marks the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain and Nirvana’s success.
The remastered work will including 70 tracks including previously unreleased recordings and demos, b-sides, compilation tracks, and live material that features Kurt Kobain and the rest of the band during their final tour.
Also included with the re-release is material form the band’s Live And Loud show from Seattle’s Pier 48 on December 13, 1993. There will also be a separate DVD release of the show that will also be offered up for sale on September 23.
The album features the instrumental recording Forgotten Tune along with Steve Albini mixes of Heart-Shaped Box and All Apologies. The album also features Dave Grohl’s solo demo of Marigold, which was recorded in December 1990. Marigold is believed to be the earliest record the drummer has ever released.
In Utero was produced by Steve Albini in 1991. The album took just two weeks to record.
