Jennifer Garner Won’t Co-Star With Ben Affleck Anytime Soon
Jennifer Garner doesn’t want you to think of her as Ben Affleck’s wife. In order to keep that phrase out of your brain, she doesn’t plan to co-star with her husband anytime soon.
Although Affleck is now an award-winning director, chances are he won’t be asking his wife to star in any of his future projects. Since Garner isn’t in the market for a nickname like Brangelina, she doesn’t see a collaboration in their future.
The actress told Allure magazine that she doesn’t want Ben Affleck attending every red carpet event with her in an effort to keep their public personas separate. However, she admitted that not having her husband by her side comes with its fair share of problems.
“Sometimes it’s a pain because my heels are so high and it would be nice to have his arm. And he’s such a great date! But it can be too much. I think especially for women, they can really lose their identity and just become ‘wife of,'” she said.
The actress continued, “Really, you don’t want to see a couple onscreen. People see paparazzi shots of us together all the time. There’s no mystery. People are sick of us.”
If you need to see Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck in the same movie, then you’ll have to track down a copy of Mark Steven Johnson’s 2003 superhero flick Daredevil. Affleck portrayed the hero, while Garner played Elektra.
The actress can be found next alongside Jared Leo and Matthew McConaughey in director Jean-Marc Vallee’s drama Dallas Buyers Club. She’s also attached to Ivan Reitman’s Draft Day, Imagine, and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
Be sure to pick up the September issue of Allure when it hits newsstands on August 20.
