Bruce Willis Is Tired Of Making Action Movies
Like anyone who works in the same field for several decades, Red 2 star Bruce Willis is getting a little bored with his job.
Although the Die Hard star has made a career out of dodging bullets and outrunning fireballs, the guy is apparently getting tired of the same old rigmarole. Willis recently told the folks at XLS magazine that he’s more than a little bored with his job at the moment.
The actor said that running away from explosions is one of the most “boring” aspects of his job as an actor. However, this hasn’t stopped him from signing on for a handful of new action-packed motion pictures. Apparently he doesn’t mind shooting bad guys if there’s a hefty paycheck involved.
“When you’ve seen a few fireballs, it’s not exciting any more. I know part of my audience enjoys the explosions, but to be honest, I’m a bit bored of it now,” he explained.
Although Willis isn’t above doing countless Die Hard sequels, the actor claims he isn’t the sort of person who spends quite a bit of time counting the zeroes in his bank account. If the actor is interested in broadening his horizons, then he’s not making any serious changes anytime soon.
“I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue. I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, mega-projects, medium-sized, even science fiction,” Willis said.
One individual who thinks Bruce Willis is more than a little greedy is Sylvester Stallone. Reports suggest that the Rocky star kicked Willis off of The Expendables 3 because he wanted $1 million a day to appear in the flick. Instead of coughing up the dough, Stallone replaced him with Harrison Ford.
The Red 2 star can be found next in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Brian Tucker’s Expiration, Jeffrey Nachmanoff’s American Assassin, and the rumored sequel Die Hardest.
What do you think about Bruce Willis being tired of making action movies? Is the actor essentially biting the hand that feeds him?
