In 1988, a creepy doll by the name of Chucky made his horrifying debut in the hit movie Child’s Play. That movie would spawn a franchise of silly horror flicks that would ultimately culminate in 2013’s Curse Of Chucky.
The new movie was written and directed by Don Manchini and stars Brad Dourif, Danielle Bisutti, and A. Martinez
On Sunday, a new red band trailer was released for Curse Of Chucky.
Here’s the movies rather simple synopsis:
“After her mother’s mysterious death, Nica begins to suspect that the talking, red-haired doll her visiting niece has been playing with may be the key to recent bloodshed and chaos.”
While Chucky might seem like a played out premise, early reviews for the movie have been decent. Crave Online called it a “rewarding film for lifelong Chucky fans,” and 198 reviews on IMDB gave the movie a decent 6.8 out of 10 stars.
I personally never found Chucky to be scary, but the character’s new look for the upcoming movie does seem a bit more creepy.
Movie fans have long complained about horror flicks losing their edge in recent times.Perhaps Curse Of Chucky will fix that complaint — but probably not.
