Michael Jordan successfully retained the title of “His Airness” today when he dunked at the MJ Flight School at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
A person dunking isn’t really a big deal (unless it’s Brittney Griner or a US Airmen in full fatigues) but Jordan gets a little extra attention. You know, since he’s 50-years-old.
ESPN reports that Jordan was hanging out at his basketball camp in California when he decided to test his jumping abilities. Jordan, who won the NBA Slam Dunk contest twice (87 and 88) soared from the free throw line and slammed it home.
OK, so it wasn’t quite that impressive. Still, it’s cool to see that the 50-year-old legend still has some spring in his step.
Michael Jordan is long past his playing days but there are still some out there that think that he could compete in the NBA.
Lakers forward Antawn Jamison said : “I wouldn’t doubt that in the right situation with a LeBron (James) on his team or with a Kobe (Bryant) on this team, he could get you about 10 or 11 points, come in and play 15-20 minutes… I wouldn’t doubt that at all, especially if he was in shape and injuries were prevented and things of that nature.”
