Lady Gaga wasn’t exactly pleased about the clip from her new single Applause hitting the internet ahead of the song’s scheduled release.
Shortly after the clip started getting passed around online, the Poker Face singer headed to the micro-blogging site to vent her frustrations about the leak. She even asked fellow pop star Katy Perry to grab some shovels and help her “f*** up some hackers.”
“Lord in Heaven why,” Lady Gaga tweeted on Saturday . “You just couldn’t wait. This is too much for one Saturday.”
The singer also complained about the fact that people are listening to the leaked Applause clip on their computer speakers. Lady Gaga was quick to condemn the practice, adding that the producers had worked hard to give your ears a rich aural experience.
“Now its not that we hate computer speakers. It’s just they’re not as HQ. We spent time actually making sure it sounds good in s*** speakers,” she explained.
The Applause clips that were popping up all over Tumblr have since been deleted . Although it’s unclear who is responsible for the leak, one source seems to have a theory.
Left Coast News reports that an anonymous source at Interscope Records believes someone from Lady Gaga’s camp may have posted the unauthorized clip online. Since there’s currently no proof to back up the claim, it’s probably best to classify this one as a rumor.
“We are happy with the song and happy with the album. However, we did not leak the song. But we are leaning towards to believing the leak is from Team Gaga in response to Katy Perry’s new song. Gaga likes Katy Perry, but cannot stand the fact her new music is getting more attention,” the insider said.
