Dancing With The Stars Cast Rumors: Tom Bergeron Says Nothing Is Final Yet

There have been several Dancing With The Stars cast rumors floating around this week and some of them may be true. Of course, some might be false as well. Tom Bergeron gave some pretty unhelpful thoughts on the cast today as he gears up for the 17th season of DWTS.

Bergeron said: “Some of the casting rumors are true and some of them are not true at all. Some of them might reflect contract negotiations that are going in one direction or another. But nothing is final yet.”

Bergeron may not know who is going to be stepping into their dancing shoes this year but we do know a couple of people who will not. Both Paula Deen and Geraldo Rivera were approached about appearing on the show but both stars passed on the opportunity.

Dancing With The Stars likes to cast controversial celebrities so its no surprise that they went after Deen, who has been in the news recently for making racist remarks, and Rivera, who has been posting shirtless pics to Twitter. ABC has also reportedly talked to Lindsay Lohan and Lance Armstong about appearing on the show.

E! News reports that the producers are looking for a “younger and sexier cast” this year.

The new cast of Dancing With The Stars isn’t known yet but ABC has announced a few changes to the show. The 17th season of DWTS will feature a two-hour episode every week.

ABC will officially announced the new Dancing With The Stars cast on September 4 on “Good Morning America.”
