James Gandolfini’s Enough Said Gets A Trailer [Video]
The trailer for James Gandolfini’s Enough Said has finally made its way online, offering a poignant first look at the late actor’s final film role.
The film, directed by Nicole Holofcener, tells the story of a charming, nuanced romance between a masseuse played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus and the ex-husband (Gandolfini) of one of her clients.
The film is set to debut at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival in September and will premiere in a limited release on September 20.
James Gandolfini’s Enough Said performance will let fans see a softer side of the late actor, best remembered for his role as tough guy mobster Tony Soprano.
“He didn’t believe he could play a romantic lead, even though everyone on the set thought he was sexy and hilarious,” Holofcener recalled after Gandolfini’s death.
“He was charming and self-effacing and incredibly talented. Not only did he pull off playing a leading man, his performance is subtle and moving and very, very lovely.”
Leading lady Julia Louis-Dreyfus also heaped praise on Gandolfini’s performance, and recalled his anxiety about the role.
“I think Jim would say he was nervous because he was playing a role unlike any other role he played before and a role in which he gets the girl and he was sort of uncomfortable with that,” she said.
“He plays a really earnest, mild mannered, dear person. Frankly, very close to what he is [and] he was… I think he was a little bit insecure about it, but he did the most amazing job.”
She gushed: “I can’t wait for you to see it. I’m very proud of it. And I really feel honored to have been able to work with him.”
