California Woman Loses Limbs, So John Stamos Takes Her On Disneyland Date
John Stamos is one heck of a guy. The 49-year-old Full House star is taking an ill fan on a date to Disneyland.
Stamos shared of photo of himself and 19-year-old Kaitlyn Dobrow on Tuesday, with the caption: “I’m ONLY doing this cause they asked. I said no press. But this story is a must read — plus me and katie have a date to Disneyland.”
Dobrow recently suffered from a bacterial infection. Though she survived, she lost all of her limbs.
To spread awareness of her story, Stamos also shared an article from the New York Daily News about Dobrow’s battle with meningococcemia, the bacterial infection that cost the young woman her arms and legs.
She was admitted to UC Irvine Medical Center in February, and has undergone 12 surgeries during her stay. In addition to limb amputations, she has also received skin grafts to help fight the infection.
Her family said that it hasn’t been easy for Dobrow to watch bacterial infection raze her body, but that she has somehow managed to keep her spirits up regardless.
“Initially, she cried when she learned about her limbs,” her father said. “But the following day she said this is something I’ll find a way to make work, and joked, ‘Who needs a left arm anyway?'”
No word on when Dobrow’s Disneyland date with John Stamos will be, but we have to hand both the actor and his young date some applause. Anyone who manages to keep their spirits high after losing all of their limbs to bacterial infection deserves to go to Disneyland.
