A father has pleaded for his kidnapped daughter’s release. Brett Anderson’s daughter Hannah was reportedly kidnapped by a family friend. Anderson’s wife, Christina, was found dead in the suspect’s home on Sunday.
James Lee DiMaggio, age 40, has been named as the suspect in the crimes. Christina’s body was discovered in DiMaggio’s house after it burned to the ground.
As reported by CNN, eight-year-old Ethan Anderson is still listed as missing. However, the remains of a child were found inside the burned home. Officials have not identified the remains.
An Amber Alert was issued for both children. DiMaggio’s vehicle is described as a blue 2013 Nissan Versa with California plates. Authorities believe he may have fled to Canada or Texas.
Hannah is described as a white, 16-year-old, female. She has long blonde hair and blue eyes. Her naval and ears are pierced.
The children’s father has pleaded for his kidnapped daughter’s release. Anderson spoke at the San Diego Sheriffs Department’s Kearny Mesa headquarters.During the press conference, Anderson addressed DiMaggio directly:
“Jim, I can’t fathom what you were thinking. The damage is done. I’m begging you to let my daughter go. You’ve taken everything else.”
Anderson also had a special message for his daughter Hannah:
“Hannah, we all love you very much. If you have a chance, you take it, you run. You’ll be found.”
Anderson did not mention his son Ethan during the conference. Officials have stated that the child found in the home might be Ethan. However, they are currently waiting for the results of a DNA test.
Luitenent Glenn Ginnantonio, of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, states that they “just don’t know” if Ethan was inside the house. He further explains that they are “praying that it isn’t Ethan.”
As Hannah’s father pleads for her release, authorities are on a nationwide manhunt. The Amber Alert was broadcast on television, radio, mobile billboards, and through mobile phones in California.
