Chelsea Clinton Open To Running For Office… Someday
As Chelsea Clinton continues to make her way into the public light, she says she’s still not ruling out a future run for office.
The daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Chelsea told CNN that following in her parents’ footsteps was still an option.
According to the Washington Post, Clinton sated the following:
“Not now… I’m grateful to live in a city and a state and a country where I really believe in my elected officials, and their ethos and their competencies.
Someday, if either of those weren’t true and I thought I could make more of a difference in the public sector, or if I didn’t like how my city or state or country were being run, I’d have to ask and answer that question.”
According to the Huffington Post, Chelsea Clinton has been purposely shifting towards a more public life.
“I had very much led a deliberately private life for a long time, and now I’m attempting to lead a purposely public life,” Clinton said when discussing her recent work with the Clinton Foundation and Clinton Global Initiative.
The Inquisitr has previously reported on the possibility of Chelsea Clinton starting a political career.
The report stated that Chelsea Clinton’s involvement in the range of public projects lead many to believe she will follow in her parents’ footsteps and make a bid for office.
And when asked about any plans having to do with office, the Washington Post had the following to say:
“It’s worth noting that Clinton’s response was — almost verbatim — the same way she has answered this question before. But it’s also clear that she’s leaving that door open.”
With Chelsea Clinton’s move from a very private life to a very public one, do you think it is possible that her running for office “someday” may be sooner then we think?
