The Taco Bell Waffle Taco will soon be coming to a restaurant near year. Well, it is if you live in California, Nebraska, or Tennessee.
The fast food chain announced today that it’s experimental breakfast item will soon see a wider release. The Taco Bell waffle taco will head out to about 100 stores in Fresno, California; Omaha, Nebraska; and Chattanooga, Tennessee starting this Thursday. Those restaurants will also see a full breakfast menu.
The Taco Bell Waffle Taco is the flagship item for the restaurant’s new breakfast menu. It contains scrambled eggs, sausage, and of course, a waffle shell. It has been available at a limited number of California restaurants but it is now ready for a larger release.
Taco Bell already offers breakfast at nearly 850 locations but the restaurant chain is still tinkering with menu options. Soon, the breakfast menu will include items like yogurt parfait and oatmeal.
Yahoo Finance reports that Taco Bell has been trying to perfect its waffle taco since its initial release in March. The frying time, temperature, and shape of the taco have all been refined since its release. Now that Taco Bell has perfected the waffle, they are getting ready to add it to the menu at close to 100 locations.
Taco Bell saw a fast food frenzy when it released its Doritos tacos and Yum Brands President Richard Carucci expects the new breakfast menu to have a similar effect. Carucci said that breakfast already makes up for 4% of sales and that the company wants to see how restaurants respond to the new crowds before releasing the menu nationwide.
What do you think about the Taco Bell Waffle Taco? Do you think the restaurant will find success with its breakfast menu?
