‘Man Of Steel 2’: Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin Being Considered For Batman [Rumor]
Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin are reportedly being eyed for the role of Batman in director Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel follow-up.
As soon as Warner Bros. announced the project last month, fans began to wonder who would tackle the role of the Dark Knight in the highly-anticipated sequel. According to anonymous sources close to the project, Oldboy star Josh Brolin is currently at the top of the list.
Reports suggest that Zack Snyder is interested in portraying Bruce Wayne as a guy in his late 30s or early 40s. In addition to being in tip-top shape, the actor would have to be able to play someone who is refined and distinguished.
In addition to Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin, other actors that are reportedly up for the role of Batman in Man of Steel 2 are Joe Manganiello, Richard Armitage, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. More interesting rumors claim that Simon Pegg and Lost alum Daniel Dae Kim are on the list as well.
One individual who’s out of the running is Christian Bale. After tackling the role of Batman in director Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, the actor decided to hang up for the cowl for good. In other words, don’t bank on Bale having a change of heart anytime soon.
As for the story itself, it’s currently believed Snyder and Warner Bros. are interested in centering the script around Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. However, nothing about these rumors have been confirmed as of this writing.
The studio hasn’t said anything about these casting rumors either. In fact, insiders say the casting process is still in its infancy since the script isn’t finished. Regardless, that isn’t stopping folks from discussing who they’d like to see in the iconic role.
What do you think about rumors that Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin are being eyed for the role of Batman in Man of Steel 2? Who do you feel should portray the Caped Crusader in the upcoming sequel?
